How does self confidence hypnosis work?
Hypnosis helps to boost your self confidence and self esteem by working with your subconscious mind (the part of you that makes sure you breathe, even while you’re asleep) to turn round the way you react to events that would previously have caused you to hide in your “protective shell”.
It’s actually quite normal for us to lose confidence every now and then – just think of a confident small child that suddenly “goes shy” when something unexpected happens or they meet a stranger and aren’t quite sure how to react.
Confidence can vanish, often at the least convenient times.
Your mind then runs all sorts of scenarios as to what could happen. And it’s all these what-ifs that compound the worry and in turn dent your self confidence.
This is all perfectly normal and is your body trying to protect you from events that could cause harm or bring you into danger. Historically, that danger could have been a predator or someone from a neighbouring tribe. Nowadays, it’s more likely to be loss of face that your body is protecting you from.
We’ll work together to come up with different ways for your body to react. Chances are that during the self confidence hypnosis session neither of us will know what those different ways will be.
Which is fine – your body doesn’t tell you about all the small details that it’s coping with, day in, day out.
Instead, I’ll work with your subconscious mind to help get your self confidence up to higher levels without you having to really do anything. The ideas will grow over the days and weeks after your appointment and you’ll begin to notice that you’ve got more self confidence in situations where previously you’d have wanted to dig a hole in the ground and crawl into it.
